DuraTrax-Mini Quake SE

I finally broke down and joined the 1/18 RC craze.  I went with the DuraTrax Mini Quake SE.  I went with this truck because of the factory installed hop-ups along with the choice of what ever performance package I decided on.  Here is the detailed breakdown on the Mini Quake SE build-up.

Used for first run to see how this thing runs!

Out of the box the stock Mini Quake SE comes with a nice little list of hop ups.  Aluminum CVD's, aluminum oil filled shocks, full ball bearings, adjustable turnbuckles, adjustable front & rear ball differentials, and a unpainted body, my personal fav!

Since this build is mainly for speed. The first line of business was to order all the hop-ups that DuraTrax offered in graphite & carbon fiber.  The main drive shaft chassis brace and battery strap were in carbon fiber.  The front & rear knuckles, shock towers, diff covers, diff case and lower chassis are in graphite

After tearing down the stock setup and replacing with carbon fiber & graphite, the next hop-up came from GPM.  Titanium turnbuckles & aluminum steering set.  I also got the 60 tooth AE18T aluminum spur gear.  These not only save on weight.  They are very durable.  Also installed was DuBro hex head screws to replace stock phillips screws.

The electronics for this build consist of the following.  Trinty Cobalt B brushless motor w/heatsink, powered by a Thuder Power 2cell Li-Po 1320mah battery Mamba ESC w/link cable for adjusting everything.  Futaba R152JE receiver, HiTec HS-225MG metal gear micro servo.

This is the current set up im running right now.  Other than the mentioned hop-ups already listed I have sercured the servo with an aluminum square tube to keep in place.  Servo tape didnt work good for me.  Right now i am using a stock AE18T 60 tooth spur gear with a 13 tooth RRP pinion gear.  This works great and keeps motor from cogging and over heating the motor.  Morehop-ups  to come soon!
